Old Parish Church Renovation and Golden Jubilee Celebrations, 2023
2023 saw the renovation of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, in Old Parish under the leadership of the Old Parish Church Finance and Management Group. The original Church was build in 1839, then rebuilt in 1971 and with the latest timely renovations, Old Parish Church has been beautifully restored, and is ready for her next chapter.

Celebrations marked both the renovation and the Golden Jublilee of the Church on 8th September 2023 - the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Mass was con-celebrated by: Bishop Alphonsus Cullinan, Monsignor William Ryan, Fr. Michael Enright, and assisted by Fr. Conor Kelly, Fr. Matt Cooney, Fr John McEneaney, Deacon Hugh Nugent and visiting priests.
Music and singing by Cór Eaglaise an Sean Phobal and St. Mary's Parish Church Choir and Darragh Kiely organist, accompanied the Mass.

Church Management Group Chairperson, Christine O'Donnell marked the event with thanks to all involved:

On behalf of the Church committee, it gives me great pleasure to welcome one and all to this wonderful celebration of the Golden Jubilee of our beautifully refurbished Church. I would like to pay special tribute to all those, who through wonderful community efforts, and with the support of former mayor of Chicago Richard J. Daley, built this Church in very difficult times, 50 years ago. A special thanks to you all, our parishioners, who continue to support the Church so faithfully. Sadly, the original date for celebration had to be postponed due to the Global Covid Pandemic. Regarding the most recent renovations, I would like to pay great tribute to the excellent tradesmen who carried out each aspect of the job with special thanks to Kevin Ryan, Surveyor, and Sean O'Donnell Project Manager.
Bail ó Dhia oraibh go léir agus míle buíochas.

Fr. CONOR KELLY P.P. CELEBRATES SILVER JUBILEE IN AN SEAN PHOBAL, JUNE 2013
A thronged Church of parishioners, well-wishers, family and friends gathered in Old Parish Church to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of Fr. Conor Kelly,P.P. on Friday 21st June. A large contingent of clerical friends from all over the diocese and beyond was also in attendance. Mass was concelebrated by Fr. Kelly, Fr. Gerard McNamara and Fr. Martin Keogh. The service was augmented by the wonderful singing of the combined Old Parish adult and youth choirs, with soloists Edel Power, Eilísh Power, Padrick Hennessey, Marion Gough and Sean O’Donnell. Readers for this special service were Gillian Kiely, Liam Reilly, Aoife Hogan, Grace Barron, Meg Ryan, Shona Burke, Hannah Power, Patrick Nugent, Kathleen Ryan and John Murray. Following the Mass presentations were made to Fr. Kelly by Hannah Nugent and Peter Kiely on behalf of the community in Halla Cólmán. This then led to a wonderful evening of country hospitality for all. Fr. Kelly was assisted by his mother in cutting the cake, which must have been one of Cáit Keating’s finest creations. Many thanks for the very generous support of the community and the organising committee for making this such a wonderful success, and congratulations to Fr. Kelly on his Silver Jubilee.
